The Golden Trophy
Three situations we encounter every week.
Specifications are in a spreadsheet, product descriptions are in your online store, and images are on a network drive. Every time a change is made, someone has to update all three locations, and someone always forgets one.
A new channel or a new language now means re-entering the entire catalog. As a result, expansion is put on hold, not because it’s impossible, but because it’s too much work.
Incorrect sizes, missing specifications, and outdated prices lead to returns and customer service inquiries. That’s not a content problem, it’s a data source problem.
As long as your product information is stored in multiple places, there’s no single correct version. A PIM system solves this by creating a single source where specifications, text, images, prices, and variants are consolidated, and from there, sends them to your online store, marketplaces, dealer portal, and catalog.
We set up that system and build the integrations. This is deliberate engineering work: the data model determines what will be possible later on, and an integration that only works during the initial import isn’t a true integration. We set up the import from your ERP, determine which system holds the definitive data, and automate the steps that are currently done manually. Where technology can take over, we do so: we automatically flag missing fields and discrepancies instead of discovering them through spot checks.
You’ll be working with Paul, Head of Engineering. He’ll define which fields are required for each channel and set up a data quality overview that you can access yourself, so you can see which products aren’t ready for publication yet.
Four layers. The data model: what product types, attributes, variants, and languages you have, and which fields are required before a product can be published. The setup: configuring the system with roles and permissions so that purchasing, marketing, and translation teams can each fill in their own sections without overwriting each other. The integrations: importing from your ERP and exporting to your online store, marketplace, portal, and print, with the leading system defined for each field. And the transition: cleaning up and migrating your existing data, because populating a new system with old errors will only lead to more errors sooner.
A PIM is only valuable if the data actually gets out. That’s why we build the export for each channel according to its specific requirements: your online store needs different fields than a marketplace, and a dealer portal requires different prices than your consumer site. Once set up, adding a new channel or language takes just an hour instead of weeks of work. Product information management is therefore not an administrative task but the fastest route to greater reach using the same catalog. The configuration and integrations remain yours: you’ll receive the documented data model and access to the integrations.
Three services that ensure product data reaches its destination.
A PIM never operates in isolation. The integrations determine whether your data comes in and goes out, your platform determines how it looks, and the content determines whether someone actually buys the product. We handle all three within the same team.
From data model to ongoing management in five steps.
We map out where your product data currently comes from, who maintains it, and which fields are required for each channel. This forms the basis for the data model.
We set up the system with attributes, variants, languages, and permissions so that each team can populate its own section without overwriting each other’s work.
Import from your ERP and export to your channels, with the leading system specified for each field. This ensures it continues to work properly after the initial import.
We clean up your existing data before it’s imported. Duplicates, missing specifications, and outdated prices are identified.
After going live, we monitor data quality by channel. Missing fields are automatically flagged, so you can see which products aren’t ready for publication yet.
Three brands with many products, multiple channels, and multiple languages.
The PIM itself and the technology to deliver the data to your channels.
In one hour, we’ll review the current state of your product data, who maintains it, and how much manual work goes into it each week. You’ll learn how a PIM could benefit you. It takes just one hour and involves no obligation.
That depends on the number of products and variants, the number of channels and languages, and the condition of your current data. A catalog sourced from a single ERP system is a different process than one with four conflicting sources.
What you always get: a documented data model, integrations that you can access yourself, your existing data cleaned up before it’s imported, and an overview of data quality per channel.
