Three situations we encounter every day.

Why choose a Cylindo partner?

  • You can’t photograph every variation

The same sofa in twenty fabrics means twenty photo shoots, so in practice, there’s just one photo and a row of color swatches. The customer has to imagine what that combination looks like on their own—and they’d rather not.

  • Products are returned because they’re different than expected

Some of your returns aren’t due to a defect in the product but to unmet expectations. When customers see what they’re getting in advance, they return fewer items. That saves on shipping costs, inventory management, and builds trust.

  • Every new variant requires another photo shoot

A new fabric or color currently means scheduling a photoshoot and waiting weeks. With a 3D model, adding a variant is a simple matter of clicking a button, so your product lineup is online the moment it goes into production.

Cylindo as the engine behind your product page

When it comes to furniture and custom orders, no one buys based on a single photo. The customer wants to see the fabric they’re choosing, from the angle they’ll see it in, in the size they’re ordering.

Cylindo is the engine that makes this possible. Each product has a single 3D model, from which all variants and angles are generated automatically. Adding a new fabric is simply a variant—not a project.

You remain in control of your product lineup. What the customer sees comes from the same product data that powers your online store, so what’s displayed is exactly what gets ordered.

What We Do with Cylindo

We start with your product data, because a configurator is only as good as the variants it’s based on. Which combinations actually exist, which ones are mutually exclusive, and do they match what you sell? This often starts with some cleanup work.

Next, we set up the visualization on your product page: which angles to show, what loads immediately and what loads only upon interaction, and how the customer’s choices are reflected in the shopping cart.

After going live, we monitor the site monthly: which variants are being viewed, where visitors drop off, and whether your return rates are changing. You’ll have these discussions with the same person who manages your account.

Three things you’ll notice in our collaboration.

Why choose Redkiwi as your Cylindo partner?

  • You’ll see for yourself what your customers are viewing

You’ll see which product variants are being viewed and where visitors drop off. Every month, we’ll review this together, and you’ll decide which part of your product range gets priority. You stay in the driver’s seat; we’ll ensure the technology and data support your goals.

  • Independent advice

With a small product range without variants, high-quality photography is both more cost-effective and visually appealing. That’s what we recommend—even if it means less work for us. That’s what ownership means to us.

  • Images and product data under one roof

We build the online store and manage the product data behind it, so we can immediately see if your product variants are correct. This saves you the hassle of going back and forth between different parties if a combination turns out not to exist. You’ll work with a dedicated specialist who knows your product range.

Frequently Asked Questions About 3D Product Visualization

01/ When is 3D visualization a better choice than photography?
For product lines with many variants: the same sofa in twenty fabrics, or a kitchen with eight different cabinet fronts. Photography becomes prohibitively expensive in such cases, even though the customer specifically wants to see what they’re choosing. For a small product line, photography is both cheaper and more visually appealing.
02/ How is a 3D model of my product created?
A 3D model is created for each product based on your technical drawings and fabric swatches. All variants and angles are then automatically generated from that model. Adding a new fabric is simply a matter of creating a variant—not a new photo shoot.
03/ Does the configurator work with my online store?
Yes, provided that the variants are properly defined in your product data. The visualizer reads which combination the customer selects and displays it. If that data is incorrect, the customer will see something different from what they order, and that will result in a return.
04/ Does 3D visualization slow down my product page?
The images come from a network and are delivered in different sizes, so they take up less space than a series of individual photos. However, since it’s more than one image, we consider during setup what loads immediately and what loads only upon interaction.
