The Nutrition Center is the scientific authority on healthy living. The challenge? Digitally, the organization had inadvertently become “stagnant.” Valuable data had become scattered across countless domains and outdated accounts, making it impossible to drive real impact. Moreover, the organization was primarily reaching people who were already health-conscious.
The strategy was based on the “Audit & Activate” model: technical best practices as the foundation for creative multichannel activation.
- The Google Grants ‘Rescue’: A crucial strategic move. Redkiwi identified that the Voedingscentrum’s ANBI status entitled it to $10,000 in free monthly advertising credit. We navigated the bureaucracy, reactivated the dormant account, and migrated existing search campaigns. This immediately created a “free” flywheel for awareness.
- Targeting Behavior, Not Keywords: To reach the unaware target audience, we stopped simply “waiting” for search queries. We used data from viewers of YouTube explainer videos to build look-alike audiences. This allowed us to find Dutch people with similar behavior who were not yet familiar with the Nutrition Center.
- Omnichannel Relevance: We rolled out a tight campaign schedule in the places where the target audience is found:
- Pinterest: Visual appeal with summer recipes.
- LinkedIn: Targeting business decision-makers for healthier school cafeterias.
- YouTube: Accessible “explainer” videos (e.g., “How do I avoid snacking?”) to lower the barrier to accessing information.
- Data-Driven Management: All subdomains (shop, information, dining environments) were brought under a single measurable structure and made accessible via a real-time dashboard.
The restructuring led to spectacular growth in both reach and efficiency:
- Free Social Value: Reactivating Google Grants immediately generated over €12,000 per month in free advertising value. This budget is now fully dedicated to critical topics such as pregnancy and sustainability, resulting in tens of thousands of additional visits annually.
- Explosive Visibility: Through the use of lookalike audiences and cross-channel advertising (YouTube/Pinterest), a record number of new visitors was reached. The cost per click decreased, while relevance and search volume increased.
- Measurable Engagement: The Nutrition Center now focuses on driving action. We’re seeing a significant increase in webinar registrations, recipe saves, and tool downloads.
- Future-Proofing: Despite the rise of AI-powered summaries in search engines (SGE), the broad media strategy ensures that the Netherlands Nutrition Center maintains its authority. The foundation has been laid for AI-driven communications and advanced conversion tracking.
By intelligently integrating technology and data, the Nutrition Center is no longer a passive source but a proactive driving force for a healthier Netherlands. The campaign proves that with a smart structure and by claiming your rights (Grants), you can maximize social impact.
