Challenge

Croonwolter&dros is looking for technical personnel. And a lot of it.
Like many other technical companies, they face a structural shortage. Certain roles are even business-critical. Without a work planner, no project gets started. Without a technician, nothing happens on-site.

So how do you stand out as an employer? How do you attract the right people in an overcrowded market?

In this case study, we show how smart channel selection can help you reach people and get them to apply.

Result

Growth

A doubling of website traffic

Application rush

More than 100% increase in the number of applicants

Impact

Cost per applicant so low, no recruitment agency could compete.

The Strategy: From Employer Value Proposition to Data-Driven Recruitment Marketing

Croonwolter&dros already had a strong Employer Value Proposition (EVP): Future made by you. Our task was to make that promise resonate with the right audience.

We translated the EVP into concrete recruitment campaigns—boldly executed in vibrant green and purple, featuring striking visuals and a memorable corporate video. This brought the message to life across the entire funnel: See. Think. Do. Care.

We built the employer brand while simultaneously working to fill 700 vacancies—in a market where everyone is after the same talent.

THE APPROACH

We chose a smart, data-driven multichannel strategy. No one-size-fits-all. No standard advertising.

Channels we used:

Using multiple channels? Anyone can do that. The real difference lies in the choices you make. We dug into the data: analyzing, for each target audience, which channels actually worked. We didn’t think in terms of channels; we thought in terms of people. And that makes all the difference.

For every vacancy group, we mapped out where the scarcity was, where the competition was strongest, and where visibility was most crucial.
That’s how we discovered, for example, that certain audiences don’t search on Google, but do scroll on Meta. So that’s where we showed up.

We used DPG Media content to reach our audience during their coffee break, serving relevant ads at just the right moment.
We also saw that DOOH campaigns were particularly effective in specific locations—very useful when you want to stay one step ahead of the competition.

We also brought structure to the vacancies themselves: what’s business-critical, and what’s nice to have? That helped us allocate the budget wisely.
Some roles simply had to be filled to get projects off the ground. Those were our top priority.

RESULTS

  • Website traffic doubled
  • Over 100% increase in job applications
  • Cost per applicant so low, no recruitment agency could compete

In a market facing structural shortages in the technical sector, that’s remarkable. But this proves—it can be done.

Optimization: From Manual Work to Automation

We didn’t stop at great results. We kept going—optimizing and looking for new growth opportunities. Recruiters were still spending too much time manually filling LinkedIn job slots. A waste of valuable time.

Together with Synetic (Croonwolter&dros' website partner), we developed an XML feed that automatically pulls vacancies from the careers site and uploads them through a central tool. This allows us to manage and optimize all online job ads in one place.

Thanks to this integration, vacancies are now automatically assigned to job slots—based on smart rules. It saves time. It reduces errors. And it cuts costs.

The next step

The foundation is in place. Performance? Check. Process? Check.
Now it’s time for the next step: collecting more first-party data—and using it smartly. So we can keep refining campaigns. And keep growing.

That’s how we ensure Croonwolter&dros attracts the right talent—not just today, but tomorrow too. So we can keep building the future. Future made by us. 😉
