Case Study

Life Outdoor Living wanted to make it easier for customers to design their ideal outdoor space, both online and in-store. The challenge was to seamlessly integrate physical stores, B2B channels, and e-commerce into a single omnichannel experience.

Solution

We expanded the web store into a powerful e-commerce platform based on Magento 2 with a fast Hyvä front end and Storyblok CMS. With smart innovations such as 3D visualizations and an integration via Alumio, we connect online inspiration directly to the 34 physical stores and shop-in-shops.

Before & After

Omnichannel Strategy to Unified Commerce

For Life Outdoor Living, we developed an omnichannel strategy that starts with the basics: a new e-commerce platform that both showcases the brand and is focused on conversion. Our focus is on creating a consistent experience both in-store and online. We designed the e-commerce platform to support the physical store.

Platform Solution

The scale of the collection and the volume of data require a robust platform-centric approach, based on a composable architecture. To this end, we have set up new environments: a Magento 2 storefront with the Hÿva theme, a configured inRiver PIM environment for product and information management, and all connections via Alumio to ensure that all integrations run smoothly.

PIM System Setup

Using inRiver, we set up a new data model based on the information needs surrounding the Life Outdoor Living collection. From marketing information to pricing and from technical specifications to spare parts. This is integrated with SAP B1 and Magento to serve as the essential link in the information supply chain.

Teamwork makes the dream work

At Redkiwi, we work together— with each other and with our clients. We asked Giel from Life Outdoor Living what it’s like to work with us. Giel is the e-commerce manager at Life Outdoor Living. Following the rebranding of the Buitenhof brand to Life Outdoor Living, there was a need for a new website. “Redkiwi demonstrated that they were best able to translate our brand positioning into an online store and website, thereby bridging the gap between brick-and-mortar stores and the online world.”

Over the past four months, we’ve therefore worked closely together to build a new online store. At Redkiwi, we developed both the design and the back-end and front-end. “Together with the team, we’re now primarily working on further developing the platform, and Redkiwi is providing technical and strategic guidance to help us clearly define our omnichannel strategy.”

We faced a major and complex challenge. “Building a website and online store of this scale and complexity—and adding a rebranding on top of that—can only be achieved with the right collaboration, attention, and focus from everyone involved.” We therefore consider the fact that our collaboration was honored with a silver DIA award to be a well-deserved icing on the cake!

“Throughout the entire process, Redkiwi went above and beyond to ensure success and handled the many challenges we encountered along the way with creativity and flexibility. To me, the Kiwis are the quintessential workaholics: passionate, specialized, and eager to create something that truly makes a difference.”
